This was my entry for Cake International Birmingham 2014. I got a Gold and Third in The Decorative Exhibit class. Quite Unbelievable!
It look me about a week to do this cake in between my day time job. Getting up at 4am doing some work before I go to work and after work till midnight (and longer), so it didn’t get much sleep before the show lol…
I hand painted the shark (airbrush too) and did a lots of royal ice piping, modelling and love isomalt to create corals flowers and leaves. Cake was inspired by famous Jane Zubova who makes beautiful cakes.
After 2 years of cake decorating I would love to do it full time, however its not easy if you have well paid job already, as most of you know. However I will need to make a choice in the new year 2015 because I found it quite impossible to tackle 2 jobs, house and family… even not having time to visit this page as often as I would like, to admire everyone’s beautiful work.
