This cake was made as an entry to Birmingham Cake International. He is made using vanilla cake and modelling chocolate to sculpt the facial features. From start to finish he took 9 hours to make. Like everything it always seems to be a last minute rush. He got started the Monday evening before CI and and then ignored until I got to play with him on the Thursday. (Yep the day before ci).
Normally once I finish a cake I end up going through the stages of cake hate. You know, analysing everything you want to change or redo, but for once I’m actually kinda happy with him. This is a serious first for me. Every single cake I make I want to change in some way. Don’t get me wrong I’m pretty sure the cake hate will follow after a week or so :)

I saw this cake from other cake makers pictures of CI and could not see who made it….thank you for posting it!

I love this cake, the expression is brilliant. 9 hours……now I am even more blown away!

PS. I thought it was just me that had cake hate! I am not sure yet if I have ever finished a cake and thought " I like that " without wishing I did something different lol!
