The two tiered cake is chocolate and vanilla, and the pink velvet cupcakes are topped with cream cheese icing and a crystallised rose petal.
This cake and cupcakes are not elaborate, and the bride provided the cake topper and the little ceramic figurine, but the couple – who are friends of ours – met on a train when he asked if he may greet her Service Dog, a huge black Lab named Khan. After a couple more meetings they traded numbers and were soon dating.
She has Cerebral Palsy, and the sight of her walking down the aisle on her father’s arm was simply exquisite.
Khan was the “Dog of Honour” at their wedding, wearing a white bowtie and a rose on his collar, and I surprised them with a little black sugar paste dog on their cake.
