Guitar cake!

Guitar cake!

This one is a grooms cake I did this past weekend. It was as close to a replica as I could get using the photo’s I was given. I did not try to go true to scale as they did not need that many servings but I did try to get as much as close as possible with the detailing. The neck is freely suspended , so no supports holding it up and was not that hard to do. I will be doing a tutorial on this in the next coming weeks as I could not find one that showed from start to finish and all the bits in between. I think all in all this cake could be achieved in just a few hours if you had the right supplies, equipment and knowledge to help you thru all the way. Overall I am happy with the result for my first attempt.

Oh wow, Sharon this is fantastic! Well done

You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits

Thank you all so much. My only regret is that I did not get side on pictures to show how it looked and how real it looks from the side view. I was running short on time for delivery so decided to get pics at venue. Well where they had the grooms cake set up was not where the wedding cake was set up it was over with the band next to the grooms guitar which had a horrible background full of boxes and band equipment. I also had so many people crowded around the cake trying to figure out if it was really a cake it was just impossible to get the shots I had hoped for. Thank you all for your kind words.
