This was my entry for the 21st World Orchid Conference that happened this year in Johannesburg, South Africa. I got a Gold and 2nd Prize for this entry :) Very excited to share it here. The birds and orchids on the cake are handpainted. I chose to showcase the orchids as they do in nature, hence the hanging orchids along with sage leaves for foliage. This was the first time I handpainted on a cake. The orchids I chose were Phaleonopsis/ Moth Orchids which symbolise LOVE. I love the way the tree stump turned out :)
