I was asked to make a fairy themed cake for an ex pupil’s little girl (oooh I feel so old), so I decided to make a toadstool cake in non traditional colours. I am still struggling with proportion when making models and my first attempt broke in two, I had to make a last minute replacement.

She looks lovely! It is so upsetting when things break isn’t it but making a replacement is all good practice. I really like the colour combination too! :-)
(by the way, I wanted to use my Martha Stewart letter mould on my most recent cake and for some reason I couldn’t get it to work. Not sure why….but the letters just kept breaking as I tried to remove them – does it always work well for you? :-) ) x
