I was thrilled to be part of the latest Irish cake collaboration. 53 bakers from all over Ireland re-created scenes/figures from Roald Dahl’s novels to celebrate Roald Dahl Day and the 50th anniversary of the publication of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We exhibited our pieces in The Ark gallery in Dublin, Temple Bar this weekend and the public response was way beyond all expectation. The nicest thing about it was the reaction of the children. Some brought along their well worn Roald Dahl novels to compare the exhibits to the pictures and a lot of the children went away requesting that their parents buy them a certain novel according to which piece they liked best. This collaboration was the brainchild of the extremely talented Niamh Geraghty of Perfectionist Confectionist. We are all so proud to have been part of this and hope you all enjoy it. Please check out www.cakedahls.blogspot.ie to see all the fabulous creations. This is my contribution, the fearsome Miss Trunchbull. She is disgustingly vile but I so enjoyed making her.
