I found the inspiration for this cake from a card. I originally planned to pipe the design with royal icing but as it was a surprise for family and didn’t really matter if I messed it up I decided to gamble and practice my painting skills instead as that is one (of many!) areas that are not my forte!

For the paint I used airbrush colours – why had I not thought of this before! Ready to go, no wasting of vodka or finding a pot to mix in ! Still, as I say – I am new to painting so its probably the done thing already !
