First timer to work with gold leaf and I recommend everyone to work with transfer sheets, unlike me. And don’t forget to hold your breath while working with it ;-)
The white peonies are made from wafer paper. Due to the high humidity this sommer the small blossoms didn’t dry for 4 days! Also a first timer for me. Well, I borrowed the vegetable and fruit dryer (e.g. apple chips) from a friend to get those tiny blossoms to dry. Worked only partly as they would soak up the humidity again once out again and have turned to a ‘lovely’ pale light brown due to the heat in the drying machine. If you ever consider doing this; keep in mind that the sugar might caramelise…
