Pineapple flowers and rough buttercream

This is another old cake from the early days. It was for a family occasion, so I took the opportunity to try out some rough buttercream techniques, pineapple flowers and flower placement. I love how the pineapple flowers turned out. I dusted the centres with some burgundy dust and then watered down some of the dust to speckle the cake.

Thanks Goreti and Chris. I followed this tutorial to make the pineapple flowers. I left mine in the oven a bit longer than recommended for a darker colour http://www.annies-eats.com/2011/02/28/how-to-make-dried-pineapple-flowers/
