Peanut M&M's Everywhere!

Peanut M&M's Everywhere!
Peanut M&M's Everywhere! Peanut M&M's Everywhere! Peanut M&M's Everywhere!

I had been dying to do one of these gravity-defying M&M’s cake, but I wanted to use one of my favorite things in the world—-PEANUT M&M’s! I hadn’t seen a cake done with the peanut ones, & after doing this one, now I know why. They are big, heavy, & hard to get to stay on the cake. But after much patience & standing there holding individual M&M’s in place for ridiculously long times, they all stayed put, & I even managed to get some to look like they were ‘bouncing’ as they were being poured.

I wanted some M&M’s to be on wires to look like they were bouncing in air, as I had seen in another recent cake. Well, the peanut ones don’t go on wires without shattering into a million pieces, which then my husband & I are required by law to eat. Yes, several M&M’s WERE harmed in the making of this cake!

The M&M’s wrapper is the real candy wrapper. The cake is Australian Chocolate Mud with my favorite peanut butter/honey/white chocolate buttercream filling, dark chocolate ganache, & covered in my own homemade fondant. The M&M’s are attached with melted Ghirardelli chocolate, so it smells incredible within a large radius around it. Basically, this is pure peanut & chocolate awesomeness. Yum!
