As I had no orders in the week leading up to my birthday I decided to make myself a cake and use the opportunity to have a go at something new. I decided to try hand painting on a cake and this is what I came up with. The pattern on the bottom tier was inspired by a piece of wrapping paper I found and the top tier (although it doesn’t show in the photo) had a gold pearl shimmer to it. It was a 6" dummy on top of an 8" fruit cake.
