We absolutely loved making this cake!!
This cake was ordered for a lovely birthday girl (historian) whose doctorate is about Catherine of Aragon, a queen who influenced English society, specially women, so much. Her head-dress is typical of a wedded woman, the colour of the clothes and the embroidery prove her status and the crucifix she wears shows that she was a devout Roman Catholic. She was Spanish (daughter of King Ferdinand and Queen Isabel) and she had blue eyes and red hair, not so typical for a Spanish woman. We had a lot of fun researching and putting in the details to this cake. No moulds were used in the modelling.
