When I got asked to do this cake for a teacher appreciation party I knew I wanted elegance and for it to tell a story. I hope I have achieved that with the different levels and design elements I used. I had seen the most beautiful cake that had caught my eye many, many months before and thought this cake was a great time to try the pleated fan ruffle and am so glad I did. I initially wanted that to be red and gold but am happy with the red and yellow.

Bottom tier was to represent the woman, the gorgeous wafer flower was made by my beautiful daughter (this is what happens when you take their phones away people, lol), middle tier to represent the men and top tier just a little elegance, my Oscar was solid chocolate dusted gold.

Hope you all like it as this is one of my most favorite cakes I have done so far,I love having free reign over designs as they always seem to turn out so much better.
