51 cake artists from around the world recently came together to honor a very special group of people…MOTHERS!
Moms wear many hats: chef, hairstylist, chauffeur, wife, nutritionist, maid, wardrobe consultant, referee, gardener, nurse, entertainer, accountant, teacher…..all this and without receiving a paycheck! We wanted to celebrate our own Moms and Mothers across the world by creating beautiful floral cakes that are as diverse as each of our Moms. Each artist chose a flower and created a cake to showcase it. We hope you enjoy our collaboration because it was made with love.
I chose Tulips because other fellow artists already picked up their fav florals and many of them are in my wishlist, lol…but actually it’s my beloved flower during years as a young girl..
The cake was made especially for my Mom on Mother’s Day embodying exactly her image like an icon in my heart and mind. She’s a great money maker experiencing the hardest challenges of money making but very innocent to most of life tricks at the same time. She’s a college Literature lecturer but the soul is never somewhere else like many other literature-based figures, her intellect is razor-sharp and I would not resist obeying her strict disciplines (the way she ruled as a Mother, lol) looking into her eyes during my childhood; but the romance part of my being inherits from noone but her!The second tier of the cake with 2 halves in contrastive designs will tell you this!
Actually I learnt the first cooking lessons from my father and almost all inspirations I could gain in the kitchen later initially started from him too. My Mom didnot cook real food very well, not say quite badly, lol, but she cooked food for my soul and brought up the philosophy of living this life the way I’m doing, and absolutely will until the end of my time!
Like all Mothers in the world, mine is the only one I can return to on the most desperate moments of life. SO this cake is for her, though she is definitely not interested in cakes and flowers as well.
