Yayyy!!! I’m back! It’s been over a month since I created a cake or posted one on here, because we were transitioning from South Carolina to Austin, TX. We just moved in our house 2 weeks ago, & the main thing I concentrated on was getting my kitchen organized & ready to work! The rest of the house is still in boxes & shambles, but by Gosh, I can do cakes! :-)

This is the very first cake order I received when I announced the opening of my business in Austin. It’s for a 9-year-old boy’s Communion. I found a color scheme I liked on an online invitation, & took the design idea from the shape of the lovely porcelain cross that my client provided as the topper.

The background color is actually a rich deep chocolate brown, but I think it looks black in the pictures. It’s accented with sky blue, sage green, & soft yellow. The cake is White Velvet with white chocolate buttercream filling, milk chocolate ganache & chocolate fondant.
