Hot Air Balloon (Showpiece)
This past weekend I went to the National Capital Area Cake Show and entered a few pieces. This was my sugar entry. It is blown, pulled and cast sugar. I handmade the molds used to cast the bunting on the balloon. I got second place. Unfortunately the humidity got to the piece and it was not in great shape for judging.

Congratulations! It looked awesome Jenn, and it was so nice getting to meet you! The humidity was terrible the whole weekend! It looks like a very hard and delicate procedure to make a blown sugar piece!

Toni it was great meeting you too!! I thought this piece was going to be a lot easier that it was. Maybe if I was a professional sugar artist it would not have been as bad.
