Back in September I had the honour of making my first wedding cake for a wonderful couple. Today, they honoured me once again by allowing me to make this gender reveal cake for them. I cannot tell you how exciting it is to help this couple tell their story one cake at a time!
So, here it is, my first gender reveal cake! A 4 layer vanilla cake that may be pink or it may be blue inside! The bear topper is handmade all from sugar and the floral heart is made from wafer paper flowers.
Inspiration for this one came from so many sources. Wafer paper flowers are so big right now, it was nice to be able to give it a try! The heart theme was carried over from their wedding cake but I certainly have seen some beautiful cakes with ruffle hearts that helped to inspire me. The bear topper was inspired by JCake and the balloons frome Krazy Kool Cakes & Designs by Laura E. Varela-Wong.

Thank you ladies! The flowers were extremely delicate. They kept breaking every time my hand brushed against it. I used the Martha Stewart hydrangea punch to cut the flowers out.
