Spongebob is a quarter sheet cake (12″ × 9″) with a little carving to get the right shape. I cut out and froze his belt, tie and facial features (everything but his nose), in advance and prepared and dried his nose and limbs about a week before.
It wasn’t until I stuck his nose on the cake that he actually ‘became’ Spongebob – I was a little worried up to that point!
The number 3 is a sparkler and the board is covered in wrapping paper. The letters are cut out using cutters I bought from ebay, but you can buy there here. I poked them with the end of a paintbrush to get a sponge look and then dusted them with non-toxic chalks in three colours.
Thank you for looking!
