I made this cake for our Pastor’s wife’s birthday – knew she loved hummingbirds, flowers and light blue, so thought this might be a fun way to incorporate all that! I had originally planned for the hummingbird to be suspended on a heavy floral wire from the morning glory flower on the top of the cake, but he proved to be a bit too heavy so I had to go with “plan b” and have him resting on the top edge of the cake! Maybe not the neat feature I had planned, but still pretty happy with how it turned out and most importantly, the birthday girl loved it!
