This cake was made for a sweet sixteen birthday girl. She adores owls and peacocks, plays the trumpet and guitar, is an ocean lover who is learning to surf (when she can get to the shore, since we’re a bit land-locked here in TN) and loves the theater & movies. Her mother has seen some of my painted cakes that are done in this particular style, which is inspired by the art of Natasha Wescoat, so she asked me to design one for her sweet girl.
I love painting on cakes!
PS – The mother asked me to add the bottom tier at the last minute to add some height and drama to the cake ;/
