I made this cake as a surprise for a lady who loves vibrant colours.
I wanted to use silver ferns somewhere as she is a kiwi, but incorporate them into something different with very vibrant colours, so I used the the ferns on a mask instead of feathers, and added some touches of silver to highlight the oranges and greens.
I chose the square blocks to add impact to the cake and contrast to the mask instead of chevrons (I love chevrons but need to master them first)
The cake itself was a zesty fresh orange cake.
I love the colours….they remind me of summer :)
