I had the opportunity to make this unique farm cake for a lady celebrating her 60th :) It was a surprise cake for her, from her sister. The wall & gate is based off one from the farm that they both grew up on & the b’day girl still lives there. Her sister wanted the cake to have a Massey Ferguson Tractor, horse, her sister sitting on a hay bale with a glass of wine & a two pronged pitchfork. She also wanted her daughter’s to be captured in there somehow. Very hard to do when you don’t know them, so I suggested that I could scratch ‘Jo & katie were here’ into the gate. She loved the idea, & it looks cute :)
The sign that her sister wanted reads – Owslebury Farm “Sixty Bloody years – not without wining!” there is a play on the words with the wine + whining. I was so worried I was spelling it wrong! LOL!
I painted the bricks to give a more realistic feel – there is something so cool about painting on cake! thanks heaps for looking! keren x
