This was a deceptively complex and fiddly cake! Each of the 5" deep cakes was themed to represent one of the identical twins. Darren’s was chocolate with salted chocolate buttercream, and featured his two Technics decks, and headphones and some of his records, whilst Paul’s cake was double vanilla. Paul is an electrician and runs his own business so his cakes featured an RKT Transit van (a first for me!) and lots of electrical paraphenalia. Both boys share a love of football, and in particular Crystal Palace so their team colours dictated the colour scheme of the cakes, and the shamrocks were a nod to their Irish heritage. I’m pleased with how it turned out. Happy Birthday Boys! x

An amazing cake with loads of details. Well done CakeyCake
Hi AWG. Not as many as you might think! 6 in total, 3 per cake, 1.5 per layer (each cake is a sandwich). I use a Hummingbird recipe which is very light on eggs, so very light in texture too. I find madeira way too dense and egg-heavy. Thanks for all your lovely comments ladies! X

Loving the detail on this one :)
Neat, neat, neat!
Ohh thanks for that !:) – I think I’ve envisioned a much larger cake :) hehe -

Each cake was 9″×6″ and they were 5" deep. Presented on a 14″×20″ board, so they were fairly large (and quite heavy!).
