I really enjoyed making this 3-tier cake to celebrate Jonah’s first Birthday. The bottom tier was a quadruple layer 8" moist vanilla sponge sandwiched with whipped vanilla buttercream, with a middle double layer 6" gooey chocolate sandwich with whipped salted chocolate buttercream, and the top ‘whale’ tier was sculpted from chocolate sponge too. It was covered in sugarpaste in three different blues to look like the ocean and then decorated with hand crafted fun sea creatures including an octopus, sea horses, jelly fish and a cheeky crab! The whole thing was topped off with an edible model of the Birthday boy riding the whale. It was 100% edible. Happy Birthday Jonah!
