Well decided it is about time I start contributing. I have been blown away by the creativity and standard of the cakes that have appeared in this forum. Probably a major reason for my holding back with putting up my creations. :) A bit about myself. Originally from South Africa, I worked in the corporate Human Resource Development environment for over 20 years and my University studies all focused on the HRD field. How then did I end up with a Cake Decorating business? Well, I started cake decorating when I was 20 (oops is that already 30 years ago!) where I decorated cakes for family and friends. Starting out as a hobby (I suppose like almost everyone here did!) it wasn't long before I started getting orders. When I moved to Scotland (having married a Scot) and after being told I was over qualified for all the positions available, I decided to take my long standing hobby and start working with that. Well needless to say that For Heaven's Cakes - 4hcakes - Scotland has gone from strength to strength and become a part of my life that I am very proud of.
Being a community of experienced cake decorators, I would really welcome any feedback you are willing to give on any of the cake pictures I post :)
