when living in Austria storing a cake in the fridge always caused condense water when taking out again.
living in the Netherlands now: no problem. maybe it also depends on the humidity at all.

good luck

I don’t know if this helps— but I live in Singapore where it’s hot and humid. You can store the cake in an air conditioned room as long as your icing is not perishable. No fresh cream. If your buttercream is made of shortening or even real butter, it’s fine outside for 3-4 days.
I have a craftsy tutorial by Colette Peters where she says you can wrap a fondant covered cake in cling film and put it in the fridge. I’ve not tried it so far….but she is the expert.
Good luck!

I always refrigerate my cakes – even those that are fondant covered. Once you remove the cakefrom the fridge, the fondant will “sweat” for a little while while it acclimates to the new temperature – but after half-hour/1 hour, it will dry out completely. The only advice I give is to keep from touching the cake while it’s “sweating” because it will leave a mark.

You can put your cake into a box and them put on the refrigerator. Nothing happend with the fondant believe me… don’t forget …. use a box….

It depends on the humidity and temperature. It is best to store in the refrigerator. You simply put your weeding cake in refrigerator. There are no problem at all.
Thank you.
