I Mercè Alvarez Requena, a native of Granada and resident in a mountain village of Barcelona, in 2010 I discovered the world of Sugarcraft and started my training with which for me was the best Cake Designer as Alan Dunn, Debbie Brown, Julia M. Usher, Patricia Arribalzaga, Neli Josefen, Kelvin Chua, Zoe Clark, Nevie-Pie Cakes, Amber SweetAmbs and Lori Hutchinson.
In November 2014 I participated in the International Cake Birmingham and Win “Gold medal” in the category of floral arrangement.
At the fair in Barcelona BCN and CAKE 2014, I was also awarded in the category of flowers.
I’ve taught workshops, demonstrations and have been sworn in national fairs, as Bilbao and Malaga.
In addition I have also been a contributor to several magazines nationwide.
In this latest edition of the fair in Barcelona, BCN and cakes 2015, have been representing the brand shows Squires Kitchen with fondant flowers.
Although I have 5 years in this sweet world, I’m totally in love with everything about sugarcraft and I discovered my passion for flowers and sugar cookies decorated with icing.
Currently I teach courses throughout Spain as a freelance.
