Topic tags/keywords: advice question tip

has anyone tried to make their own cake flour? if so does it work like the store kind? i currently purchase Swans Down from Wal-mart, but it can get a little pricey. i was looking up places online that will sell in bulk but didn’t find many places that came out much cheaper. i came across this:

and was wondering if anyone had ever tried it. So if you have, please let me know what you think. or if you have a cheap online source for cake flour, spread the love :)

Thanks!!!

I do, exactly that method – and it works great! I’ve been doing it for years now and have never noticed a difference between that and actual cake flour. Saves a ton of $$ :)

Sweetapolita has a post on flour – it’s very helpful – here’s the link. Fairly certain I remember her mentioning a method she has used or that you could use to make your own. http://sweetapolita.com/2012/01/bring-me-flours/#comments
