Congratulations on the award. A really beautiful design. As for people touching the cake, it does seem that some ‘adults’ never grow up. Like children they have to touch everything. I am so glad that in Aus our competition creations are all in glass cases.

Thank you Leyda & Sheila :) Summer, I like this glass case idea! Next time I was considering painting the whole thing in industrial strength sealant or bringing my own velvet rope lol x

Well done! It’s a fantastic creation… A lot of hard work and thought has gone into this design.
When I first entered I was the same, never told a soul, I was a bag of nerves and nearly got disqualified as was millimetres out, but managed a bronze hahaha…. Hon, the judging is harsh, but I love taking to them afterwards as they always give positive feedback and comments on what to so next time. :) I don’t enter to compete, but for my own journey of self challenge. You’ve done a beautiful design here hon it’s only the elementaries of competitions that get in the way. . Sorry to have missed you there hon xx and please please enter more… We all look back on our first entries… Hugs xxx

Wow Sawsen this is amazing! The detail is incredible and it looks first class to me – but then I’m like you and look at the overall effect and beauty ;) You can clearly see you have put your heart and soul into this. I’m like June, would never have the nerve to enter something like this with the level of scrutiny that is involved – it would be like someone pointing out the “technical imperfections” of my children! Well done on every level x

I’ve been bowled over by the support I’ve had from my friends here, and you’re right when I spoke to the judge I felt miles better and recognised there were faults, which I didn’t notice but they do. Hopefully I’ll try again soon, and hopefully we will meet at that point xx Judy I totally agree, but I am really glad I entered regardless… I love your cakes! I’m sure loads of people at the show would to, I’d love to see you enter as Calli says for yourself

Hi, some of the molds I made myself, others were from ebay and a couple from marvelous moulds. They are all fondant, isomalt doesn’t work well in silicone molds because it looks speckly/bubbly. Hth x
