If you have a love for cake decorating, I hope you will continue to do it. I think everyone has those moments of doubt, me included. In fact, I battle that feeling quite regularly. When I have those days, I try to focus on the joy and pride I feel when I create a new cake, give myself credit for how far I’ve come in the improvement in my skills, without comparing myself too much to others (which admittedly can be hard sometimes). I’ve considered giving it up myself many times myself over the past couple of years. I have 4 young children, and sometimes I find it too difficult to try to balance meeting their needs while still finding the time and energy to invest in building my cake business and get my skills to the level I want to be at. But I really have a passion for this and don’t think I’d be happy doing anything else. The way I see it, if I just focus on enjoying the creative process as well as the challenge and reward of learning something new with each cake, then everything else will fall into place the way it was meant to. I hope this helps a little and that I’ve managed to give you a little bit of encouragement to carry on. Good luck to you and hope to continue seeing your cakes!
