Speaking more as a customer with a daughter getting married this year – we have been to a few wedding fairs as well as Cake International at Birmingham last year. This helped her gather her thoughts about her theme and what she did and didn’t like. She was certainly drawn to stands with beautiful displays – cakes included. It was also interesting where a cake designer stood out from the crowd either because of flawless work or a signature style. So in that context I think dummys to display your work are a great idea if you go to wedding fairs to attract customers. We have also found that they helped us with ideas as she had absolutely no idea what she wanted to start with. I think the important thing then is to offer a personalised, flexible service if they don’t want an exact copy of one of your designs.
