I borrowed the original guitar (while the recipient was out of the house) and I traced it onto freezer paper to make a template. I used foam core poster board for the neck of the cake. (I covered it with fondant) I used light gauged craft wire for the strings. (I should have pulled them more tight, some of them came loose. I had the young lady who doodled all over the guitar, doodle all over the guitar cake with vodka and food coloring gels. I knew I would never replicate the original doodling. I Hope this helps.
