Q&A: Gingerbread recipe

I’m looking for a gingerbread recipe that would last well on display.
I’ve tried a few and my gingerbread is great out of the oven but seems to soften quickly when uncovered (within a day or two).

Any tips or tricks appreciated, thank you!

The trick to is to keep your gingerbread “crisp” for making a house. Softer gingerbread doesn’t hold up. You need to eliminate the baking powder/soda. Here’s the recipe I use. Never failed me yet.
