Browsing through the web, I ran across “glam sticks.” To be honest, I had never seen or heard of them before – but what a wonderful idea – kudos to whoever thought of it first!
You can purchase them on-line, but they are very easy to make – so after trying a handful at home, I thought I’d share the process with you.
Materials: glam ribbon (you can purchase these on line or at Michael’s); lollipop sticks; hot glue gun; measuring tape (not in pictures) and scissors.
Measure how much of the lollipop stick you want to cover lengthwise – I suggest leaving at least 1 inch uncovered so you will have room for your cake pop – more if you making it for a cookie. Also check how many rows of the glam ribbon you will need to cover the entire stick width-wise – cut appropriate length & width. Using glue gun (be careful – it gets very hot – my fingers will confirm this) add a row of glue along the length of the stick – place ribbon over glue – you must work quickly because this glue dries fast. Once secure, roll remaining ribbon onto the stick and add a second row of glue to close it out. VOILA! That’s all to making glam sticks.
These ribbons come in all colors and they will add a lot of glitz to weddings, showers, birthdays, etc.
