After taking a Faye Cahill class on Craftsy I began using Claire Bowman’s Cake Lace and I love it.
Last night I was making some Cake Lace designs for an upcoming wedding cake and I tried an experiment. I am quite pleased that it worked. I filled a bag with the cake lace mixture and piped it into these silicone frames. I let them air dry over night because I wasn’t sure how oven safe the molds might be. I will use an Xacto knife to clean up the inside edges.

Thanks Toni, I especially like the fact that they are light weight. I tried making them with gumpaste but they were heavy and bulky looking.

What a great idea. Very pretty, and as you say, lightweight.

You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits
I always think cake designers are the mothers of invention. :)
