My aim was to create a realistic pine cone, and I thought the best material to do it is the modelling chocolate.
So, if you want to make such a pine like this, you will need:
some semi sweet modelling chocolate
rolling pin
daisy cutter in three sizes
dusting brush
black dust power
bamboo kebab skewer
paper towel
scissors
Rolling out the chocolate appr. 1mm thick
Cut the chocolate with the three different size of daisy cutter
Dust their back sides with black power dust
Cut every petal off by a scissors
Keep one petal black side up and turn 3 mm of its top down, then make a sturdy press with both of your index fingers to make a little hill among your fingers
The result looks like this:
Continue this procedure with every petal:
Then cover the bamboo skewer with some chocolate
Cut its top into three part with a scissors
Look like this
Then place the petals in the following sequences:
first line: 3 or four mid-size petal
second line: five or six mid-size petal
third line: six or seven mid or large size petal, depending on how big pine cone you want to have
further lines: large petals
last two or three lines: small size petals
Hope you will enjoy it as I did.
I wish you Merry Christmas!
