"Un Jeu d'Enfant" become "CAKE RÉVOL" ;) :D

Hi Everyone :)

Today want to share our new cake name !!! So here’s our new visual identity and name which will identify us from now on our work of Cake Designer.

Leave us, first of all, explain to you why we change identity. Indeed, he can seem strange, while we were known under « Un Jeu d’Enfant », while we decide to upset everything, even if it means losing a certain recognition. It almost has been now one year since we talked the idea to change because we were confronted with a major problem. « Un Jeu d’Enfant » was too much connoted “for the children” while our work evolved towards something much more grown-up in term of creation and size of cake. Because indeed, it’s also necessary to be realistic, the report time of creation/profitability is a major datum to be taken into account. The preparation of “little” cakes destabilized this report and it’s necessary to us to make a choice. That’s why we’re essentially going to concentrate our work on the big cakes, because there’s only the one who can really make us live.

It’s time now to explain our new name and logo :)

For everyone who already tried to find a name, you know well to what the exercise is difficult. It even took us several months before finding. It had to combine a lot constraints, as the French side, but also English, it has to be easy to pronounce, that it has to be a real sense, to make male… So, here’s some proposals which would have been able to be our name: Flavor’ It, Presticakes, All Senses, TOGA, Fresh Cake, and much sillier things: Extaste, Cake adventure, Ventoche, Orgasm or still … Sugar Balls and it’s on August 02nd of this year, on the beach, that we finally found: CAKE RÉVOL!!
In here’s the advantages:

- English/French mix
- Name short and easy to memorized
- Abstract and male name
- CAKE to represent our activity
- RÉVOL = Revolving (turning point), which illustrates well our evolution
- RÉVOL = Revolution, because our work is recognized for its singular side and especially because we’re soon going to present you our new technique of revolutionary decoration. It also marks a side " French Révolution " assumed.
- RÉVOL = to LOVER, because our job is our passion and we adore what we’re doing.
- CAKER ÉVOL = the evolution of the cake makers (a little exagerrated but why not ;) )

After we found our new name, it was necessary to us to create the logo that goes with it. And even there, it was complex. We were so soaked with « Un Jeu d’Enfant », that we needed a new look. That’s why, we called on to Loieza, a friend and a talented graphic designer, by suggesting her working on this new logo, with her own outside vision. Thus it’s her work which we present to you today. We’re anxious and we sincerely want to thanks her for having had so much inspiration and especially for having created this very cool and fresh logo and it have a lot of senses for us !! Moreover, here’s the explanation:

First of all, we absolutely wanted this new logo has links with the precedent, to create a continuity in our identity. That’s why the silhouettes of our portraits were the starting point of this one. They’re bound by the center to illustrate the marriage of our competences which makes that our work is. The bow tie and the key, which are also strong symbols which we held, also had to appear on it. The general style, colorful, corresponds to our technique that made us known: the Flat design. It’s also a party set of modernity, far from the usual logos of the cake world, without cakes or other tools of pastry, because we want to favor our force: the design. Finally, colors, red white and blue, are significant values of which we are proud. Because we’re proud to be French and have the ambition to impose our style on the whole world (only that !). These colors also have another more “secret” meaning for the moment, because they remind the 3D glasses of the 90s, with the blue and red filter, but hushhhh… ;)

A little bio for know more about us:

Jonathan: Before, « Un Jeu d’Enfant », I was a salesman in different stores (videogames, clothes, toy stores, kitchen stores…) then I realized that the blooming in the work wouldn’t be there. When I discovered Cake Design in 2012, and launch my blog www.un-jeu-d-enfant.fr , at the 1st French Cake Show in Lyon, I saw more attractive future. I was gratuade of pastry in summer 2013. And then we created start up « Un Jeu d’Enfant » on the 1st of January 2014. Today we launch our new concept " CAKE REVOL "!

Sébastien: I was gratuade of an art school and I moved on at once by the world of the entrepreneurship, by co-creating the Graphic Studio « Pixpulp ’ », in Nantes, for 6 years. The narrow-minded sector, then the crisis, were right of this attempt, but, after some disappointing experiences in differents companies, I discovered Cake Design, by means of Jonathan. In 2012, following a visit common to the 1st French Cakeshow dedicated to Cake Design, to Lyon, we decided, in front of so many obvious facts, to co-create " Un Jeu d’Enfant ". Today, we launch our new concept “CAKE RÉVOL”!

We really hope that you’re seduced by these changes, more representative of our current and future work, and that you will continue to support us in this new adventure, as you so well made it for « Un Jeu d’Enfant ». Moreover, so that the transition between our two identities is the most impacted and the most visible for all. In advance thank you very much < 3

Don’t hesitate to leave us a comment, because your opinion is really precious fo us :) :D
