Hello my dears,
I can almost never be bothered spending a whole 10 mins whisking to make Royal icing. This is what I use instead. I came up with it through a mixture of laziness and wanting not to use raw egg because I hate the smell. The fondant appliqué tutorial I posted a while back uses this stuff, so I think it would be good for cookies too. I haven’t tried drop strings though.
I also show how I make a fast cellophane cone. They are so much easier to use and with a cleaner point than parchment, which for the life of me I cannot get to work right. You can even use the cellophane like outer food wrappers of packets of biscuits or multipacks of crisps if you don’t have cellophane. This is a throwback to how I used to make henna cones when I was younger and could be bothered!
