Fun things I have discovered.

I am excited to share this discovery.
I hope you will find this at least interesting and at most useful.

While working on my last cake I required some “pollen”.
A search of the scullery netted a few options….. the above photo was my choice.
Not a standard ingredient in the pantry unless you play with Paleo.

“Flax seed meal.”

This coloured beautifully with petal dust, in the two centres.
Fixed easily with tylose glue.
Sealed well with 1/4 strength confectioners glaze.
??? The only question remains … how long will it keep

For the daisy like centre I sifted out the larger husks before colouring, and for the “anemone”
I used the whole mix and painted it black when dry.

I love the effect and interest it has give both centres and I can see it making gorgeous textures to give a lovely rustic look.

Thanks for taking the time to get to here.
Sue.

What a lovely idea… Being seeds I would have thought they’d keep indefinitely, not sure
but according to google… 6 months to a year depending on where stored. That’s of you’d eat them . Looks very nice.

You must never limit your challenges, instead you must challenge your limits

Love this affect, thanks very much for sharing :-D
