I got to make this sewing cake for a lady celebrating her 80th birthday tomorrow! She’s done quite a bit of sewing in her life & wanted a cake with this theme. The dress on the dress form is the Wedding dress she made for her daughter 25 years ago! It was a fun but stressful cake to make! Stressful only because I wanted it to be the best it could be, I wanted to get the dress perfect & to get each detail right for her!
I hope I did! I hear that she loves the cake! so that’s awesome! and her daughter who organised it all & picked it up this afternoon said ’that’s my dress!’ so that was great :)
Almost forgot to say – the design is not my own… the birthday girl fell in love with one her daughter found on pinterest & while it’s not an exact replica, it has a lot of the same things & ideas on there.
