Recently I was asked to make a trio of reptile cakes for a young boy’s birthday. My only “real” direction was that each each cake needed to be roughly the same size and the animals needed to be realistic looking.
Each cake is based on a 2-tier cake, and all the animals have a RKT core that was then covered with modeling chocolate. All the reptiles were sculpted based on toys I bought from the dollar bin at our local Toys R Us.
The iguana seemed like he would be right at home “sunning” himself on a rock. The rock was sculpted and then iced in buttercream in several colors with a few patches of buttercream grass to make it a little more realistic.

Love it! I think the iguana is my favorite of all the reptiles you made! Maybe because we had a pet iguana named Iggie when my children were little! This looks just like our Iggie!!
