I made this cake for a couple, in their 50s, who wanted to take a present to a housewarming dinner. I tend to like cakes that are minimalistic in nature, especially for adults. I also wanted to keep the raw look of ganache thus not covering it with fondant. The house and key are hand cut; the keyhole I made by using one of the keyholes in the house and molding the fondant into it :-)
The cake is a light fondant chocolate cake with layers of Valrhona Gunaja 70% ganache!

Nicole, thanks a lot and you know, I’ve tried all kinds of really good chocolate such as Callebaut and Lindt but the Valrhona really stands out in ganache and when it comes to adult cakes, that’s my first choice!
