This sweet hula minion is now one of my favorite cakes. I was so excited to make her standing up! Made the minion from 4 stacked 6’ rounds and a half circle covered in ganache and fondant. The palm tree in the background in a dowel in a hole bored into a wooden cake board and glued. Palm leaves are fondant with tylose powder, and a ton of wires for support!

Pauline, minions sauté are popular! I have made 41 minions in the past month! LOL! They are just so cute I LOVE them! Lisa, I will post a blog entry about the cake board, but to give you a quick answer, I took a Wilton plastic board (8") with Wilton Grecian pillars and glued three of the pillars to the cake circle. Then I drilled a 5/8 inch hole in a wooden board and glued a 4"x 5/8" wooden dowel (from Michaels) into the board to line up with the pillars. Then just slipped the pillars over the wooden dowels. Voila! Standing minion that won’t tip over! The palm tree is a 3/4 inch wooden dowel glued into the board.
