The idea for this 40th anniversary cake came from memories of the wedding day.
Apparently the groom had to play rugby for Marlborough (nz) and he insisted the wedding was delayed, so the wedding was put back by 2 hours, and when he did turn up, his friends had taped the words “help me” to the bottom of his shoes.
40 years later they are still as loved up as they were on their wedding day and their children wanted to bring these memories into the anniversary cake. (Hence him wearing his rugby top with his player number on it)
