I entered this cake into a British Sugarcraft Guild competition today and was delighted to win Bronze. The cake took approximately three weeks to complete with all the butterflies cut from white paste and glued to a white cake and then airbrushed. The pebble base was individual rolled balls of paste airbrushed with layers of colour and then glazed with five layers of confectioners varnish. The moss was textured with a piping tube tip. Although this was a fair amount of work it was a fun project!
Beautiful work! Love all the details! Congrats on bronze! :-)
