This is my second time doing this design. The original design, based on the Disney/Pixar movie “Up”, was done back in early 2010 and had 3D figures of characters from the movie. My hubby loved the design so much at the time that he asked me for the next three years to make it for his birthday. Each time, there was some reason I couldn’t. Finally, for his 45th I decided he deserved for me to take the time to make it for him and make it extra special, so I revamped it a bit and by using a raised 2D effect on the house. I omitted the detailing on the back to save some time since I had to work around my new baby’s schedule. But ultimately I ran out of time anyway so was not able to make the figure I planned of him to go on top. Also, there was to be a sign above the balloons that said “Getting UP There” as a pun on his milestone birthday, but that had to be scrapped as well.
