This cake was my 2nd call to action for Icing Smiles. It was for a beautiful 11 year old girl who was diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma back in March of this year as well as her twin brother and younger sister. The mom requested a cake with one tier for each child with the themes of cheerleading, baseball and Barbie. I really wanted to turn these very different themes into one cohesive cake so I decided to base my design around the red “V” baseball stiches and tried to incorporate that element throughout the cake. So I used a chevron pattern on the top tier and made a “V” shaped design on the bottom tier to resemble a cheerleading uniform design. I then made black silhouettes to coordinate with the theme of each tier to tie everything together. It was such a pleasure to be able to provide such a deserving family with a joint birthday cake that was hopefully special to all three of the kids celebrating their birthdays this weekend! Thanks for looking!
