I was asked to make this at very short notice and the board it stood on was the only round board I had to hand at the time… I was a little nervous at the size of the board to the cake, but when it was finished.. I really loved the overall effect. The cake was Chocolate and Vanilla swirl cake.. the filigree design was hand piped with royal icing and then dusted with gold edible paint.. The Carnations and butterflies were hand made. x
