A wedding cake I delivered today, to Chawton House Library, housing some of the best UK women’s literature. In particular, Jane Austen, whose house is nearby.
The cake has piped detail on each tier, and the sugar flowers are roses, anemones, sweet peas and eucalyptus leaf sprigs.
The cake is rosewater with white chocolate buttercream. The top tier is a fruit cake with the dried fruit soaked with Hogs Back OTT beer, and the cake was fed cognac before it was covered in marzipan and sugarpaste.
